Re: [VPN] New BEFVP41 Firmware posted 9/16 I see no mention of fixing the DDNS problems in the release notes. In the past I have called linksys and received and tried 1.40.5 and 1.40.6. Linksys BEFVP41 V1 (not V2) - new exploit out? Ideally I'd love to set them up with a nice set of Cisco ASA/PIX devices and replace all the Linksys but that is just my personal preference for setups like this. If the firmware is unfixable and somehow exploitable, the V1's might have to be replaced anyway. I have a VPN connection between my Fortigate-60 2.80, build358, 050128 and a Linksys BEFVP41 V2 (1.01.01 beta1, Sep 22 2004). I use aggressive mode for the connection, because the Linksys has a dynamic IP and I use peer IDs to differentiate between multiple dialup tunnel. The connection can be established and traffic flows in both directions. Discuss: Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL VPN Router BEFVP41 - router - desktop Series Sign in to comment. Enter the same port number to be forwarded into the External Port and the Internal Port boxes.

From the Protocol box select the protocol for the ports that you want to forward.

Enter the IP address that you want to forward these ports to in the IP Address box. You can enter either the IP address of your computer or the IP address of another computer or device on your network.

In the Enable checkbox put a checkmark.

Forwarding a Port Range

You need to name this entry in the Application box. The name does not make any difference in the forward; it's just there so that you can remember later why you setup this forward.

If you are forwarding a single port, enter that port number into the Port Range Start and the Port Range End boxes. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range into the Port Range Start box. Then enter the highest number of that range into the Port Range End box.

In the Protocol box select the protocol that you want to forward these ports over.

You need to enter the IP address that you are forwarding ports to in the IP Address box. It's possible for this to be either the IP address of your computer or any other IP address on your network that you want ports forwarded to.
